Cielo, the world’s leading strategic Recruitment Process Outsourcing (RPO) provider, has named Malaika Myers, Chief Human Resources Officer for Hyatt Hotels Corporation, as the newest member of its Board of Directors.
Myers brings 25-plus years of Human Resources experience to the Cielo Board, having worked in the consumer products, chemicals and hospitality industries for both public and private companies. In her current role, Myers is responsible for Hyatt’s human capital and talent strategy and sits on the company’s Executive Committee.
“In searching for a new voice to add to our Board, we wanted someone who knows both the kinds of challenges business leaders face related to talent as well as those that HR teams face across their scope of responsibility,” said Sue Marks, Cielo Founder and CEO. “Malaika has incredibly valuable experience in leading transformational change at different types of organizations, and I look forward to the guidance and insight she will provide to Cielo into the future.”
Prior to joining Hyatt, Myers led the global human resources function for Jarden Corporation and served as CHRO for Arysta LifeScience, where she led the HR function through an operating-model transition. Myers also served in various senior human resources roles at global wine and spirits company, Diageo PLC, and spent 10 years with PepsiCo, where she held numerous positions, including Vice President of Human Resources for the PepsiCo Sales Organization. She started her HR career with FMC Corporation.
“I am thrilled to be joining the Cielo Board of Directors,” Myers said. “I know from first-hand experience that Cielo’s ‘We Become You’ philosophy is what all companies look for when they decide to partner with a Recruitment Process Outsourcing firm. I truly admire all that Sue and her team have accomplished delivering creative, strategic solutions that anticipate the evolving needs of their clients.”
Myers earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Business from the State University of New York at Buffalo and is a member of the Board of Directors for Skills for Chicagoland’s Future, as well as a former Board member of the Stamford Boys and Girls Club. She resides in Wilmette, Illinois, with her husband and two children.
