Permira bolsters Capital Formation team with senior appointments. New Dubai office planned to grow strategic partnerships in the Middle East.

London, 3 February 2025– Permira, the global investment firm, today announced that it has appointed Chris Buchanan as Partner and Global Head of Capital Formation and Nader Salman as Managing Director, Head of Middle East in its Capital Formation team.

The firm intends to open an office in Dubai in 2025, which will enable Permira to enhance its coverage and footprint in the Middle East, working closely with existing local and regional investors and developing new strategic partnerships.

Prior to joining Permira, Chris was a Partner at Apollo Global Management for 16 years working across various roles including Global Head of Institutional Client Group, Co-Head of Institutional Client & Product Solutions, and Head of American and European Sales. Prior to that he worked at Citi, Credit Agricole and Capital International. At Permira, Chris is based in London and currently leads a team of 30 people globally across investor coverage and project management within the Permira Capital Formation team.

Nader Salman joins from Neuberger Berman where he was Managing Director, Middle East & Africa, based in Dubai, leading the firm’s coverage across distribution channels and investment capabilities for over eight years. He was responsible for overseeing the firm’s strategic relationships and leading a regional sales team. Nader previously held senior alternative investment roles in the Middle East at Société Générale, Man Group and Evolvence Capital.

The new Permira representative office is subject to approval from the Dubai Financial Services Authority, as is customary when opening a representative office of this nature in the Dubai International Financial Centre Free Zone, Dubai.
