Menlo Park, Tuesday 22nd October – Permira, the global investment firm, is pleased to announce the appointment of Raj Patel to its Executive in Residence (EiR) initiative. The EiR initiative seeks to build a team of former operators that will advise and support portfolio companies in conjunction with Permira’s dedicated Value Creation Team and Senior Advisers.
Raj brings over 30 years of diverse, global, large-scale experience to Permira, having led numerous prominent enterprise SaaS companies and tier one consumer internet companies. Prior to joining Permira, Raj served as CTO of Multicloud at Genesys, a Permira fund portfolio company and leader in the customer experience space, generating approximately $1 billion in revenue.
Prior to Genesys, Raj built an impressive track record in engineering and product management through working with some of the largest SaaS companies globally. His career includes notable senior roles at Workday, Symantec, Pinterest, Salesforce, and Cisco, among others. Raj's experience across the software stack has equipped him with a deep understanding of various aspects of the technology landscape, enabling him to make substantial contributions to overall strategy, product development and engineering initiatives.
In his new role at Permira, Raj will leverage his experience, network and knowledge from enterprise software and consumer tech domains to support the Permira Value Creation Team across the deal lifecycle, with a focus on product and technology diligence and post-transaction value creation.

The EiR initiative, in collaboration with Permira's dedicated Value Creation Team and Senior Advisers, aims to establish a team of accomplished former operators who will provide valuable guidance and support to portfolio companies. Earlier this year, Steve Goldberg was appointed as the first Executive in Residence at Permira.
